A special move

Helen, 51, a web designer, and Philip, 59, an IT public servant, have achieved their location goal. Their stunning Butler-style townhouse at our Phoenix Park development in Thame, Oxfordshire, represents everything they had hoped for: a spacious, light-filled home for them and their beloved cats, Twix and Boo, in the picturesque market town they had long admired.

This charming town, steeped in character and surrounded by stunning countryside, has always been their ideal location, and for Philip, who grew up in the area, Thame carries a personal significance, making their move particularly special.

Helen says: “Previously, we lived in a three-bedroom, three-story house ten miles away in Aylesbury, but it never quite felt like the perfect fit. Our dream had always been to settle in Thame. For years, we had been drawn to its character and beauty but feared it might be out of reach. We thought we may had missed the boat on Thame’s property market.”

Ticked all of our boxes

Helen, a self-confessed Rightmove addict, kept a close eye on the market, but nothing stood outuntil they discovered Phoenix Park. She says: “The development immediately caught my attention. It was the only one in our preferred location where the pricing felt fair. It is great value for money.”

After visiting the property, they knew it was the one. Philip explains: “The spacious layout, the brilliant garden, and having our own driveway; it ticked all our boxes. We also appreciated the sense of openness. Unlike other developments, the homes don’t feel crammed together, meaning there is a real sense of space and privacy.

"This is our third townhouse, but it’s by far our favourite... This layout is a dream for open-plan entertaining, and when we need to unwind, the cosy first-floor living area is perfect. Plus, being in Thame and having so much space makes it even more special.”

When the sunlight pours in through the windows in the morning, it’s almost like waking up on holiday. The brightness really does give the whole place a warm and uplifting feel.”

The perfect home, in the perfect location

The couple’s favourite feature is the abundance of natural light. Philip says: “The sun streams through the front of the house for most of the day, making it feels so bright and airy.” Helen adds: “When the sunlight pours in through the windows in the morning, it’s almost like waking up on holiday. The brightness really does give the whole place a warm and uplifting feel.”

But it’s not just the property that impresses them; the location is equally perfect. Philip shares: “Thame is a beautiful historic market town, full of charm and character. It strikes the perfect balance between rural tranquillity and modern convenience. Since our favourite pastimes are eating and drinking, we love exploring the town’s fantastic cafés and pubs, many of which serve exceptional food. Plus, the great transport links to Oxford make it even easier to enjoy everything the area has to offer.”

Helen adds: “Thame has a strong sense of community and the people here are warm and welcoming, and there’s a well-established community spirit."

"The whole team had such a positive attitude... Their dedication made for a brilliant buying experience." – Philip

A 5-star buying experience

Helen and Philip couldn’t speak highly enough of the support they received from the Bellway team throughout the buying process. Helen shares: “Cat, our sales consultant, was fantastic. She went above and beyond to help us. We even joked that she needed to go home more often!”

They were equally impressed with Gareth, the site manager, for his proactive approach. Philip says: “Nothing was ever too much trouble. The whole team had such a positive attitude. Rather than pushing back on any concerns, they pushed to get things sorted. Their dedication made for a brilliant buying experience.”
