A former market town, the city of Wrexham has retained a thriving independent shopping scene, with over 30 local businesses trading within the Tŷ Pawb cultural centre, alongside a food court with a variety of cuisines. The Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre offers a choice of high street retailers and casual eateries, with a further selection on and around the Hope Street arcade.
Wrexham’s city centre also boasts a number of upmarket restaurants, including The Bank Wine Bar and Bistro, serving seasonal small plates, and Levant Kitchen and Bar which is reputed for its Sunday lunch menu and creative cocktails.
Border Retail Park, which incorporates two large supermarkets as well as several big-name retailers, will be about five minutes’ drive from the proposed Holt Vale development. For everyday groceries, there will be a small convenience store just a short walk away.
Chester city centre, which would be less than a 30-minute drive from home, has several shopping centres including designer retailers and boutiques. Its historic and beautiful two-tiered shopping galleries, the Rows, are home to many unique shops, restaurants and bars, as well as England’s oldest surviving shopfront.
