Cody Upright and Adam Dawson had two very special reasons to celebrate when they bought their first home together at The Old Dairy on Broadway in Hyde, and also got engaged the day they got their keys.
Cody, from Pontefract, and Adam, from Doncaster, met at Sheffield Hallam University and have been together ever since. After they graduated, the couple moved to Manchester for work, renting in Cheetham Hill and Wythenshawe, before deciding to buy their first home together.
When collecting their keys from Bellway, Adam surprised Cody, getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him. With Cody answering ‘yes’, the young couple happily toasted their future together. They plan to get married in 2022.
Cody and Adam settled into their Bellway home immediately and are already very much at home in Hyde.
Cody adds: “Having never lived in Hyde and it being new to us, we really like the area. The location is convenient for both Adam and I to commute to work and it is lovely to have a couple of local pubs nearby. There is a real sense of community and a friendly feel to the development too, and we are slowly getting to know our neighbours which is really nice.”
We have plenty of space for family and friends to stay.”
Cody says: “Whilst visiting The Old Dairy we came across the Rosewood house type which was perfect for us. The contemporary open-plan kitchen and dining area, with French doors into the garden, was exactly what we wanted. The separate lounge with bay window ensures we have a room to relax and unwind in too.
“Upstairs the master bedroom is a great size and it has en suite facilities too. There are two other bedrooms and a modern bathroom, which means we have plenty of space for family and friends to stay.”
