A young family have upgraded to a more spacious village home in Bedfordshire, after moving just five miles from their old house. Channelle and Matt Dawkins were looking for their next home on Rightmove when they came across Bellway’s Berry Wood development in nearby Wootton.
Channelle and Matt, who were previously living in a four bedroom home in nearby Cranfield, scheduled a trip to see the spacious four bedroom detached Nene house type, and after seeing it in person, knew it was the exact home they’d been looking for.
Channelle said: “Although Matt and I aren't from Bedfordshire, we’ve always been attracted to the area for its affordability, and that’s why we knew we wanted to stay here. We loved village life, so our dream was to find an open-plan house on a nice village estate.
“We have a two-year-old daughter Issie, so it was important for us to find somewhere with a good family feel and well-regarded schools.”
“The Nene suits our family perfectly. Although it has the same number of bedrooms as our previous house, it’s so much more spacious,” says Channelle.
“We now have two en-suite bedrooms and a study and we’re very happy with everything. The extra space will be great for when our parents and grandparents come over to visit and help with childcare.”

The young couple also helped to design aspects of their new home, with Bellway Additions, to make it more personal to them. Channelle explains: “We chose to customise the flooring downstairs with a wooden finish to give it a personalised touch, and our favourite room is the kitchen. It’s a very open and sociable area.”
