A couple have changed the habit of a lifetime by buying their first ever new-build home with Bellway. Stewart and Katy Todd, who had previously always bought period homes, were looking for the perfect place to enjoy their retirement, when they came across their ideal home in Bellway’s Estone Grange development, in a Buckinghamshire village.
The couple, who moved from Nottinghamshire to the Buckinghamshire village of Aston Clinton, to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Katy says: “We loved many things about the development, but the main selling point was the location. There are several facilities close by and a bus stop within walking distance, which means if we ever decide to give up our cars, we can get about perfectly fine.”
Katy, who works as a freelance writer for a Japanese lifestyle magazine, says that Bellways Estone Grange development ‘ticked all the right boxes’.
When asked about their experience of buying with Bellway Katy explains that the overall buying process was ‘very smooth.’
Husband Stuart adds: “Knowing what we had to do and when to do it and what was expected of us. It was most excellent.”

Katy and Stewart, say their new four bedroom Bellway home has ‘everything they could ever need’.
Katy said: “We had been looking to move for around two and a half years, but we couldn’t find anything we really liked. We had always gone for older properties in the past, so we had never considered buying a new build until we found Bellway.”

The couple were also taken with the number of options Bellway offered them in terms of designing their new home.
“As we had never bought new, we were impressed by all the little touches we were able to add. I suffer with arthritis and being able to pick certain fittings to suit this meant a lot to us. It has allowed us to future-proof, which is what we always wanted,” says Katie.
“We were even able to incorporate the Victorian tiles from our old home into the design of the kitchen, keeping something of our old style.”
