Keen walkers at Woodbury Manor have easy access to a host of hikes and trails to soak in the landscape of rural Sussex, with several national forests and nature reserves in the surrounds. Maurice Thornton Playing Fields are a 10-minute walk away, host to a community centre and outdoor facilities for children.

A gym and leisure centre can be found in Hailsham town centre – a mile away – as well as plenty of public open space and a choice of sporting grounds. The wider area is host to some notable places of cultural interest, including Herstmonceux Castle, The Observatory Science Centre, and Michelham Priory. Keen golfers will find several well-kept courses and clubhouses within a 10-minute drive of the development.

Eastbourne and Brighton – a 23- and 48-minute drive away, respectively – offer a terrific variety of leisure, history, and culture, as well as some of the country’s finest coastline and beaches.

Hailsham is home to a range of schools, catering to children of all ages. The Step Academy Trust oversee a number of well-regarded schools in the area, including Phoenix Academy and Burfield Academy – a three- and six-minute drive away, respectively.

For secondary school students, Hailsham Community College is a 20-minute walk away, and Bede’s Senior School is four miles away, accessible by public transport.

For those interested in pursuing higher education, East Sussex College Eastbourne is a 16-minute drive away, while some University of Brighton buildings are as close as 20 miles from the development.

Lion House bus stop is a four-minute walk away from the development and offers regular shuttle services around the Hailsham area for easy access to the wider town. Polegate train station is four miles south, providing Southern services to the regions’ key destinations – average journey times are 11 minutes to Eastbourne, 31 minutes to Brighton, and 92 minutes to London Victoria.

For motorists, the A22 is a six-minute drive from the development, heading south to Eastbourne in a further eight minutes, and north towards London – meeting the M25 after 35 miles. The London Underground is an hour and half drive away, with Morden station serving the northern line through to destinations including Waterloo, London Bridge, and Leicester Square.

Gatwick Airport is a 58-minute drive away, offering worldwide destinations and connections. The Gatwick Express is a train service running to London Victoria every 15 minutes, taking just over half an hour.

Woodbury Manor is well served by everyday essentials, independent shopping, local restaurants, and high-street brands. This is largely due to the proximity to Hailsham town centre, just a mile away. The Quintins Centre is a 15-minute walk away, offering well-known shopping destinations and one of several supermarkets in the town. St Mary’s Walk shopping centre and The Vicarage Field Precinct also house a few shops and vendors, while Hailsham retail park is a seven-minute drive away. The high street provides independent retailers, as well as popular cafés, traditional pubs, and restaurants offering tastes including Italian, Indian, and Chinese.

Hailsham is known for its markets – with regular farmers, boot, and street markets happening within a short walk of the development, shopping fresh and locally is convenient.

The development’s proximity to Eastbourne, Brighton, and London means residents have access to some of the most famous shopping and dining destinations in the country.
