Kingfisher Green is situated on Lower Rainham Road, less than two miles by car from High Street, five miles from Chatham, six miles from Sittingbourne and 39 miles from central London. The nearest railways station is Rainham.

Major roads within convenient reach of the development include the M2, the A2, the M20 and the M25. Gatwick Airport is less than an hour away via the M25.

There are a number of well-regarded schools in the local area. These include Riverside Primary School, which is within walking distance, Holywell Primary, Thames View Primary and St Thomas of Canterbury RC Primary, which can all be reached within around five minutes by car.

Secondary-age students are catered for by The Howard School, Leigh Academy Rainham and Rainham Mark Grammar School, among others. Mid Kent College has a campus in Gillingham, 10 minutes’ drive away  and offers a programme of apprenticeships, further and higher education courses.

For day-to-day essentials Rainham High Street with its range of independent retailers and several supermarkets, is around 20 minutes’ walk away. For a greater selection of shops, including well-known stores, popular restaurant and cafés, head to Hempstead Valley mall, or The Pentagon Shopping Centre in Chatham, both less than 15 minutes’ drive away.

Maidstone, around 20 minutes’ drive from Kingfisher Green, is popular with shoppers from across the region, attracted by its large commercial heart, which includes The Mall, Fremlin Walk and Royal Star Arcade, as well as High Street and Week Street. Maidstone also hosts a twice weekly general market and a monthly farmers’ market.

Kingfisher Green is set against a backdrop of green fields, close to Bloors Lane Community Woodland and within walking distance of two nature reserves – Berengrave and Motney Hill. Riverside Country Park, five minutes’ drive away, is ideal for walking and cycling, it has a children’s play area, visitor centre, picnic spot and café. Slightly further afield – 15 minutes’ drive away – Capstone Country Park is situated in the North Downs and features a variety of woodlands, meadows, orchards and a lake. It has two children’s play areas, walking and running trails, a mountain bike course, an outdoor gym, cycle routes and bridleways.

The Strand Leisure Park, three miles from the development, is home to an outdoor gym, play areas, crazy golf, tennis courts and walking trails. It also has an outdoor swimming pool, toddler paddling pool and lazy river, which are open during the summer months.   

For ice skating head to Planet Ice in Gillingham, 10 minutes’ drive away, or for skiing and snowboarding, Chatham Snowsports Centre is just 15 minutes away by car. The nearest multiscreen cinema is located in Chatham, while for theatre fans, the Oasthouse Theatre in Rainham presents a community programme of drama, family shows, comedy and musicals.

Major roads within convenient distance of the development include the M2/A2 (for Dover, Canterbury, Dartford and London), which is 10 minutes’ drive away, the M20 (for Folkestone, Ashford, Maidstone and London), which is 20 minutes’ drive away and the M25, which is around 30 minutes away by car.

The nearest train station is Rainham, 18 minutes' walk away, and from there regular services run to Margate, Dover, Dartford, London Victoria, London Bridge and London St Pancras International, among other destinations. Journey times to London Victoria and London St Pancras International are under an hour.
